I prefer to use the brand Ooks for my hooks for hanging pictures. They use brads that leave very small holes rather than mar the surface with big nail holes. Another advantage is they don't make the wall crumble, which is important because most walls are drywall gypsum board anymore. There are Ooks for different weights, and I was even ably to hang a very heavy wall sconce with two Ooks rated 75lbs each. No, the sconce wasn't nearly that heavy, but I wasn't taking any chances in an apartment complex that charged for damage to the wall. Besides: it looked like there were two little crowns on the hanging, which was cool!

If you are worried about scraping the textured wall, put a bit of dark felt or PVA foam (Fun Foam) in the places on the picture that touch the wall. PVA foam has a bit of thickness to it, so you wouldn't have to wrap it around the frame edge to protect the wall.

To check where the picture will rub, take a sheet of paper and slide it under the picture on the wall, and where it meets resistance, that's where to put felt or foam on. Do it from both sides and get a range. Get sticky - back felt or foam and cut a small, even rectangle to stick near the back edge of the frame. You might want to use a small bit of masking tape or Blue Tape to make sure the placement is right before you stick your piece permanently. Once you've placed it, raise up your little foam piece with the blue tape still holding it, peel the foam backing, then fold down again to stick it permanently to the picture. Then remove the Blue Tape.

3M Command hooks just do NOT work on textured walls. Your picture will stay for a while but will fall off in a few days. I wasted lot of money on these Command hooks and even damaged a wall decor that fell to the floor.

Hercules Hooks are what u need and they are backed by the late Billy May's. they work as command hooks do not work on textured wall . but Hercules hooks leave a small hole very small and hold a lot of weight

The 3M website for the Command products actually specifically states their products are not recommended for textured walls. Theres a do / dont use chart right at the top of the Command info page. I took a piece of textured plaster as big around as a tennis ball out of my wall using a Command strip!!:(
