Yes, I think that would be a lovely update.
Spray paint the whole base to match a color in the room design. Dry brush an accent color on the base, inside of dips, etc. Can even stencil or design a pattern in the larger area....have fun.
Check out https://www.lampsplus.com/ for some ideas.
Check at Walmart or other furniture store to see what is available. If you are not sure, purchase what you like, take them home and return the ones you do not want. Most shades today are boxy, some with a little décor on them and others in plain colors.
Ahhh! Spray paint a ginger jar??!! I think I just had a heart attack
You could even pull the fabric off of the shades you already have so you can cover the frame with a fabric of your choice
I suggest you take another photo of the lamp, only this time without the shade on it. Then take the photo with you when you shop for new a shade. I think you can stand back from a shade you like and hold the photo up to get a visual of how the shade would look on your lamp. I hope this helps!
Check you tube, I had one of these with a v shaped shade, smaller on top larger around the bottom is the only way I can describe..or go to a furniture store and walk around and see what they have..
I think a paper shade that is the same basic conical shape would be nice but be sure the length is enough to cover all of the socket!
Not sure what style your going for but this is what I did on my old lamp. Granted it is not a ginger but it does have a similar shape
