Those were sure pretty in their time, but that time is gone. Most of it was self-adhesive, but not removable. But start at one corner, dampening a few inches and using an Exacto knife to loosen the end. Pull slowly, trying to go parallel to the ceiling edge. If this is working, dampen more of the wallpaper and keep going. If the wallpaper is tearing into small pieces, then use the Exacto knife to score the border into repeated Xs, but try not to damage the wall. Dampen a couple of feet at a time, let it soak in, then use a wallpaper scraper, a pancake flipper, or a plastic scrubber to scrape and scrub the border off. Best wishes ☺️

I am going to try to rent a professional steamer, some of my walls have 80's wallpaper that is hanging on for dear life. I am hoping that the professional steamer will help loosen the strips so they will come off easily, but the walls will need to be scrubbed very well afterward. Then paint! Any ideas as to if this will work like I want it to??
