Spray paint the linen liner on a vintage oil painting

I had a huge, dark dreary oil painting. I took it apart.......scrubbed the lining, scrubbed the top layers off the painting itself, then scrubbed that dreary frame down with Ammonia. Am going to replace dark colors with bright splashes with pallet knives......use coconut oil to refinish the frame (still has lots of patina).........am thinking spray painting the linen liner with cloth spray paint might relly make it pop..........Has anyone done something like this?

I'd cover the painting with plastic wrap so none of the spray would get on it. if you can't take the painting our of the lining Best would be to take the paintiu out altogether first. answer this question...
