What should this vent cover look like?

My vent covers have been painted over and over for years. Can I buy new ones? Should they be white or metal?
Yes, easily purchased at Lowe’s, and since your doors are white I’d go with that.
Take them down and measure carefully. Decorative ones are also available on the net, quite reasonably priced. Now they’re frquently tic and easily washed.
i bought new ones because mine were plastic, I live in a travel trailer. I currently am redoing my 3 x 5 foot bathroom floor in pennies so I painted the cover a copper color to blend in.
Paint to the color of the wall. Replacements available at home Depot. Measure carefully. Odd sizes order on the internet.
It's up to you to decide if you want to paint it to stand out or blend in. There are definitely prettier ones available, though.
Normally they are white. People paint them the wall color to make them "disappear". Home Depot, Lowe's or Menard's.
