How do I repair vinyl plank flooring?
We have a gap in the middle of the vinyl plank flooring that w installed last year. We are in Florida, and the gap opened during the summer. We leave our a/c on when we go back north. Any ideas on how to repair it, as I do not want to rip up the entire floor

This idea is great for replacing a damaged plank. What I have is a gap about 1/16 of an inch by 1 foot long. it narrows towards the center, thus only half of the plank has a gap. Any hepl would be appreciated
Unfortunately, this is the problem with vinyl plank flooring. It is not a stable product and expands and contracts with temperature changes. I refuse to use it.
They do make some specialized caulkings that are color matched. You can buy them at a tile store. I would try to fill this with a color matched caulk. The problem I forsee is that this will expand again as the temperature changes. If you make the gap tight, you are likely to have buckling.
You could consider using one of the colored crayons to fill the gap. There really is not much else you can do now without ripping up the entire floor.
If it is the tongue and groove type, you may be able to readjust it and do it all the way to the wall to make it even since it is not down permanently.
