Paint and stencil. I used porch and floor paint from "oops" section in mine. Check this site for painted floor ideas
Sheet vinyl in a wood pattern. I have it in my kitchen and it has been mistaken for real wood. Then get an inexpensive area rug (or bound carpet remnant) to put where your sofa, coffee table and a chair maybe sit. If you cannot install the sheet vinyl yourself and cost for installation is a problem consider self stick tiles in a wood grain. These are easier to install. The wood warms things up. Throwing an area rug helps to make it look a little more complete. When the rug wears out, or is too dirty - roll it up. And get another one. Remnant carpet pieces can be bound at the store for little cost. It gives you some color to the room as well.
Vinyl floor tiles are pretty easy to install
