My Bathroom floor is cracking in places, do I need to replace it.

Or can I skim coat it, to even out the floor an lay a new floor on top.

    If you even it out, that should be a good starting ground for covering it with a new floor top.

    The big questions is why is it cracking in the first place. Answer that and all your other questions are answered, too.

    You may have a major problem under Neath with water. Don't cover it up, only making problems for yourself or the next owner later.

      True, I was attributing it to the fact that the house is 100 years old.

    My old neighbor had covered up a bathroom floor with problems. Looked good for a little while. New neighbor stuck with major problem and had to remove vinyl, then tile. Pipe was occasionally leaking. BIG mess.
