You can use a system called squeeks no more with an electric or cordless drill , as shown by Tom Silva of This Old House website. It's usable through carpet, or hardwood floors, when you cannot access floors from a lower level. The device works exceptionally well.
If the seizing is exposed under it you need to find the spot squeaking then screw in screws to stop the boards from moving
Hello, This is a repair we recently solved. We had to place one single repair break off screw in our newly installed (2015) floors to sucessfully silence our kitchen floor squeaks.
