I have voles that are digging up my lawn, how do I get rid of them?
They are leaving dirt piles and holes all over my lawn. I have tried to drown them, but they are still here and digging.
Hydrangeas do well in full sun or half-day sun as long as they are kept moist in the spring and early summer. Make sure to ad organic matter (compost) to the soil annually. I mulch well in the fall and add the compost in the spring.
You should cut them all the way back in late winter or early spring. They will grow more blooms if pruned hard like this each year. If the plants start to flop over due to weight of blooms, next time you prune leave a "structure" of the old growth. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
