Bone & Blood fertiliser is the thing to use (If you can get it in the US) and always deadhead your roses as the flowers fade. Prune after frost and since you are pruning every time you cut, watch the shape of the plants, there are plenty of good books you can refer to for pruning guidance. Hope this helps.
