Try Black-eyed Susan, Echinacea, and miniature asters. They are perennials and will come back year after year. You could also add in some annuals....petunias and impatiens.

I've always enjoyed planting Hostas and Fountain Grass. For flowers, you can plant bulbs, crocus, tulips, peonies, and other beautiful flowers of your liking. Have fun and enjoy your new home. Best of luck.

start by measuring out your proposed flower bed. then look around your neighborhood what flowers are growing and looking well? perennials should come up every spring ...annuals need to be replanted. occasionally perennials need to be divided....see if your neighbors will share or trade. check what the mature size of your newly acquired plants should be. then plant them in the planting beds as if they are at the fully grown size. does't look lush or colorful? this is what annuals are for...taller in back, smaller in front.

If you like 🌹 they are pretty awesome. All have to prune them after every bloom, you can have more flowers. Trim them to ground level in January. they looks they are dead but they will comeback in the spring. You can enjoy them end of November.
