Arborvitae turning brown

We have arborvitae that are turning brown. They are along a fence line and it is only in one section that this happens. Any advice or thoughts on reasons for this. Photos attached.

    You probably have a fungus or a bug. Look closely and take a sample to your local nursery and see if they can help you.

      Yes I wonder about fungus because of the color. Nursery idea is a good idea, I will check that out. Thanks!

    The reason why arborvitae foliage turns brown ...The combination of wind sun freezing temperatures and lack of available water in winter can cause arborvitae foliage ( and the leaves of other evergreens as well ) to turn brown this happens because there dying out prune it in early spring prune before new growth conceals pruning cuts do not prune into that area I suggest you get a water timer feeder
