Plant in spring or fall
You can plant anytime of the year but spring is the best time. Water them a lot. Most hydrangeas don't like the hot sun on them. We have 2 in the yard. Have to water a lot.
It depends on your location. Here in California we can plant them much earlier than the northern states.
They are usually planted in the spring or fall....check with your local garden center to see what time of year in best in your area. They will also be able to give you information about the best soil conditions, watering, fertilizer, etc.
Mary Jane, I love everything about hydrangeas :) I hope in a year or two I will be able to grow some of my own. My go-to for many gardening ideas is MOTHER EARTH NEWS and they have an excellent article that I am posting for you below. Good Luck with your beauties :) Enjoy! and thanks for asking Hometalk for information :)
