Do you remove lower leaves from Tomato plamts?

Do you take the lower leaves off your tomato plants? We have a community garden in the senior complex and there is one lady who takes them off of all the plants.
I always left them on my plants to help shade the roots.

Yes, this will help the plant to bush our & produce more tomatoes

Where two limbs come together nip out any shoots that come there. It keeps the plant from using it's energy to grow vine rather than tomatoes.

Also when you plant you should plant quite deep even up to & including the lower leaves. This will encourage better root development

Thank you all, I didn't know all this information either. I'm going to try it and then hoping for bigger fruit this year as last year was more little ones.
