I just looked up information on my apple tree. Yellowing leaves could be a lack of minerals. My book recommended using any kind of liquid fertilizer weekly to get a quick fix. Better but slower treatments include adding slow release fertilizers like blood meal and fish emulsion. One of the things mentioned in this book and I've read it before is that weakened plants are more susceptible to bugs and other plant illnesses.

Try dustin Talcum Powder (Johnson Baby) on the whole plant.
I spray my plants with soapy water. It really helps.
Good luck
This tree is the host plant for tiger swallowtail butterflies, meaning they will lay eggs and when caterpillars emerge from eggs they need the leaves to eat to survive. Have you seen any caterpillars? Any pesticides will eliminate and/or damage caterpillars/butterflies. Please be careful.
Have you tried Diatomaceous earth? It seems like this is becoming a cure all against quite a lot in the garden. I always use Food Grade. Not the stuff used in swimming pools.
I used baking soda 2tablespoons mixed with 1 gallon of water, just to try to see if it helps.
