What can I do to make the soil in my backyard more moist?

Good morning, the soil in my backyard is very dry. What can I do to make the soil more moist?

    Turn your soil over and mix in manure...it needs nourishment. Maybe there is too much
    acidity within your soil. Have it tested.

    If you live in a sandy area, all you can do is water water water. Never cut your lawn shorter than 3 inches tall. This will hold moisture in and shade the grass.

    bio-char will hold moisture and also good bacteria for your garden...carbon tested to 1,000 years...it acts like a hotel for the good things your plants need and they hold your water....there is lots on the internet about bio-char and how to make your own and how to ''activate'' it...water crystals will hold water for up to 7 years but bio-char for longer than a few of our generations.
