I think my butterfly bush is dead, what to do to revive it?

i live in north east ( massachusetts) we had a horrible winter. i think it killed my butterfly bush. is there anything i can try to bring it back to life?

What makes you think it is dead, it may just be delayed.Scrape the bark and see if there is any green -

I will be watching this. I think my Butterfly bush didn't make it through the winter as well. I live in the nw corner of Ohio and we didn't especially have a bad winter so maybe it just has outlived its time. Good luck with this! -

Scrape back some bark starting at the higher points and working your way down. If you see green beneath, you have life there, prune away the dead limbs. Good luck.
