They have been in the same garden for years, but are suddenly not doing well.

what is your location?
Have you tried a violet fertilizer?
Are you watering too much ? If not maybe ,run a soil test.
Since violets multiply and spread, they could be over crowded and need to be divided.
I would run a soil test at my local nursery
