Tomatoes require six to eight hours of sun. Just use a good standard garden soil for tomatoes like Miracle grow.Helpful Reply -

My herbs and one large pot of peppers and one large pot of tomatoes get about four to maybe five hours of afternoon sun and do well, I would say just as well as the ones in the garden, just a little smaller in size and give abundantly in the produce area.Helpful Reply -

Forgot to comment on the soil. For my big pots I use 1/3 top soil, 1/3 good peat moss, 1/3 potting soil. For the smaller pots I us half to 1/3 peat moss and the rest potting soil.Helpful Reply -
