When should a Hibiscus plant be pruned after Winter indoor storage?

Wait until the new growth starts to emerge then cut it back a bit.

  Hi Janet! Does "new growth" mean when small leaves begin to grow out from the tips of the stems? I had mine inside all Winter ...leaves dropped as always...now it has those tiny leaves forming.

  Yes that is correct .That how you can tell where the dead wood thats needs to be pruned off. Remember Hibiscus cannot resume outdoors until 55-60 degrees.
