a coolish room and after flowering, put in a room that you DO not use so that it has the same darkness and daylight that it needs until spring or early summer WATER ONLY NOW AND THEN WHEN IT IS DRY.Helpful Reply -

Also depends where you are. I am in Michigan and have found they love the sunny windows on the south side of the house. If you have a darker area put a plant light over them and they should do well. I don't wait until they are dry to water as then they start dropping leaves quickly.Helpful Reply -

Poinsettias are summer blooming plants from Central America. They are forced to bloom in greenhouses for sale at Christmas time. They like sunny days and cool nights. A sunny window out of drafts is best, water when the top of the soil feels dry. They can be planted outside in temperate areas (no snow in winter).Helpful Reply -
