Improper watering to dry or to wet
As with any indoor plants, if they are touching a wall, it could be the warmth from the wall. Or possibly overwatering.
keep out of direct sunlight, you may be overwatering or in some cases not enough
My granddaughters spider plant leaves were turning yellow and some were browning. She asked my advice; as soon as I saw where she kept it, I could see the location was too dark. They like bright light but don't need strong sun as the leaves will bleach out. Water once a week IF the soil feels dry. If still damp, feel soil in another few days. Try and note when you water - on your calendar or whatever is convenient. In a week's time, feel the soil. When you finally see a "pattern" of when the plant needs watering, whether it's every 7 days or, perhaps, 10 days, write it down. Watering schedule will eventually become a habit. My plants are watered once a week; every Friday. If I had succulents, they would most likely be watered every ten to fouteen days. Spider plants are easy to care for. Remember, it is entirely normal for a leaf to yellow and die; it doesn't mean the plant is dying. You will see new leaves forming at the top (and baby spiders will appear too). Remember when you water, to water well .... i.e., until water runs out the bottom drainage holes. Wait for it to stop dripping before putting it back where it sits. Proper and thorough watering encourages stronger root development.
to much water
Sounds like it's either being over or underwatered or the plant may be potbound.
I drink tea, and use the tea bags and left over tea to water my spider plants which makes the leaves dark green. My 4 spider plants live outdoors all year long.
