Location is East side of the house on my front porch. It gets morning sun. Sunny for approximately 5 hours. I want flowers for my containers. I've tried Boston ferns, petunias, begonias... nothing does well here. Help! What can I plant?

Our favorite container for a vegetable garden is a horse/stock tank... Lowe's and many other places carry them in stock. Ours are 2 feet tall, 2 feet wide, and 4 feet long and cost about $80.. there is a drain hole in one size (you just need to remove a plug).. and we drilled more drain holes in our...You can also find them used, where there the bottom have rusted thru.
They also come in many other sizes and shapes. They hold plenty of dirt,(and plant supports like tomato cages and trellises) are tall enough not to hurt your back (and keep dogs and critters out). Another good thing about them... they are light enough they can be moved if you need too, just tip the dirt out onto a tarp, and move the tank and put back the dirt.

If it is true E, gets 4-5 hrs sun . You should be able to grow an herb garden.
Also, flowers that grow in the shade.

Herb gardens are a great idea! And easy to bring inside when it gets too cold out!

Depends on what you like. What kinds of plants do you want? Edibles or something pretty, something that is fragrant?
