We grow them very well in Connecticut so they should grow great in tx
You may need a greenhouse because we do get cold winters or you can opt to bringing them indoors.
I live in the DFW area and my lemon tree has been outside in a large pot all summer on the south side of my home. I bring it into the garage for “winter” and bring it back outside once the temperatures warm again. My tree (which I started from a seed) is about 7 feet tall now. Hope this answers your question!
