You don't say what state or area you live in so my suggestion would be to either call your county extension agency or go to your local home depot and ask them. I found this info but not sure if it will work for your area

Hello. Your local sod farm might be the best option to go to. They would know the variety best suited to your growing zone. I would consider getting an expert recommendations there. Sod is likely to be costly> plugs.
