Can I leave my pot of hens and chickens out in the cold in Michigan? I heard they will be fine and will come back in the spring

Your chickens will need a place to roost.. and where they can get in out of the snow and wind. They will also need a source of food and un-frozen water.

If you take care of them this winter, you will not have to buy more in the spring. HobbyFarms.com or Backwoodshome.com will have answers for you.

They should come back, I live in eastern Nebraska and have never had a problem with them coming back. I think you get a little colder, for a little longer, but they should do fine. You can always bring a pot in to replenish them in the spring, just in case

I don't have any, my mom had millions. We live in the pinkeye finger area of MI, never took them in in the winter, however the pots did crack after while. She just threw them on the ground & they took root & grew like weeds!!

They will not freeze. Hens and chicks are hardy perennials and will tolerate snow .
