How do I establish a small compost bin on a townhouse patio?
Hello Naderi; You need to have your Compost in full sunlight for the best effects!
Is your bin open or does it have a lid? Is it in full sun? Please tell me more, so that I can help you!!
I used more green grass from the mower bag after mowing. And keep it damp. Grass that isn't very chopped up doesn't seem to work well. Chopped materials work best.
Stir every single day use plenty of grass clippings they heat up the best.
It sounds like you are doing fine. I would just give it more time. Try to move your compost around often. It's important. All the kitchen scraps and paper are good components. Just keep adding your yard waste and moving it around. Keep it in the sun. Good luck.
Hello Nader; If I were you, I would leave the drum open. Add water, and some plain dirt to it when you add your trimmings, food scraps. I would leave the drum open for several days. Mix daily.
See if that helps! Take Care!
