get rid of the moisture condition and the moss will go away. The ground is too wet.
Here in the Great PNW, this the norm. Potassium Salts are what works well. It is a natural by product. Looking at the surroundings in your pic, it appears that you have shade, possibly wetter springs. Lichens are more of what you are dealing with than moss per say and believe it or not they are symbiotic and do not affect the health of the tree.
Anyway, Lilly Miller makes a hose end spray for moss and lichens with potassium salts. Best of Luck!
Moss only grows where it is damp! Not sure if it would be right for you, but Spray and //leave gets rid of moss over time.
We actually power washed our oak trees. There is a special attachment for the power washer so the water doesn't damage the trees. The drawback is that unless you use a ladder you can only go about 8 feet high.
