That is the life cycle of citrus, they always fruit in the winter when it is cooler.

I just lost most of my spring lemons due to a high wind event, ripped all the blooms off and the fig tress suffered too, ripped off all the newly sprouted leaves.
Since it could be any number of reasons, I would contact your local Ag Extension to see if they can help you out.
