How can I cover a wall with 60 inch wide burlap?

Should I use  a spray adhesive along with my staple gun to affix burlap to wall?

yes, sounds like it will work, but try spraying the adhesive to the wall, not the fabric, have a helper, staple from bottom upand the best of luck to you ... :-)

If it was me I would use staples as later on if you want to take it off you will have a lesser chance of doing any damage to the drywall. Good luck and please post some pics when you're done. Can't wait to see it!😊

I would wet the burlap and shrink it first.. then dampen it again so you can stretch it out as you apply it to the wall.. then allow to dry and it should shrink again and be smooth. otherwise burlap is so loosely woven it will like sag on the wall over time. treat it like wallpaper and use a wheat paste glue that is easy to move around while wet and easy to remove. spray adhesive is not likely that easy to move.

Consider using yard sticks or something similar and fold the fabric over the top so the staples don't show, and it makes the top smooth and not pull on the staples....does that make sense? I wouldn't use any adhesive, but at the bottom where the staples will show, maybe nail in a thin trim.

I would glue it to a thin strip of wood trim and let dry on the floor and then staple it into the strip to the wall.

have not tried this on a whole wall, but in smaller projects it works..shrink the burlap as suggested, roll liquid starch with a sponge paint roller onto the wall and install from the top down..the idea of using the yardstick as a header is genius. with the starch it comes off very easily when you want to change, and leaves no residue

Use Sta-Flo Concentrated Liquid Starch .... sold at Walmart $2.97 ... used for craft projects... it's removable too if you decide to change your decor. Great for using to 'wallpaper' walls with your favorite fabric, line drawers in a dresser, etc. And it doesn't require glue or staples or any of that.
