Start by painting and picking out a new floor. That's really all we can see from your pics, but painting walls & cupboards plus updating floors will be a long way to making your kitchen look newer. Also add new appliances if you can. Look around the internet for kitchen updates to get some inspiration.

Can you be a bit more specific in your questioning, Christopher? For example, what is it you want help with? Is it just the floors in both rooms that bothers you or what? If it’s the floors, can you tell us what are the current materials there right now? Is that kitchen floor sheet vinyl and is that bathroom floor sheet vinyl as well or individual tiles?
