How can I hang a range hood without a cabinet above my range?

How can I hang a range hood with out a cabinet above my stove I was thinking maybe to try to suspend it from the ceiling or make some kind of arms to hold it out from the wall not working with anything heavy just a cheap model which i havent bought yet

u can put it on ceiling, google range hoods u should find a idea there how to do it...good luck

There are hoods meant to be installed without a cabinet but they tend to be expensive- see Faber wall chimney. If you want to install an inexpensive e.g Broan hood, you could install a shelf with brackets and install the hood to the underside of the shelf.

Love Julies1949 idea! That would be my suggestion. You could also add extra shelves above the hood shelf and it would look great and symmetrical. Plus you'd have extra storage for your special kitchenware.

I used wrought iron brackets to hold mine up and the same brackets to support the glass shelf above it.
