your installer will do that for you. First you MUST make sure your flooring supports will hold the added weight -

You don't do the measurements. The company you buy from does that...if anything goes wrong, it's on their backs. -

You have to get a professional to do it.why cause once they cut that granite it’s permanent. Been there done that -

Hire a company to do this so that if it is wrong they will need to adjust it at their cost--not something you do on your own! They would come in and take measurement and make a template. To get a general idea for cost measure length and multiply by width to get the general area in square inches or feet
