That is what I have in my house. Do I like it? Not really, but I used good paint, so it is easy to wash. Long story short, the house was not built with a blacksplash, I had a plan, life got in the way. Working on it in tiny bits here and there. If you want photos, let me know!
Not even 10 minutes ago, I read a post where someone cut out the slats from window blinds. She glued them to her back splash and painted with a couple different colors of paint. It looked like real shiplap and her cost was a couple $$.
