What would look good between my backsplash and range hood (pic)?

Hi hometalkers. I am stumped on what to put between my backsplash and range hood. The stone is great, but very rough, so I hoped to find something more scrubbable. The greasy painted wall isn't working. Space is 9x36. Is the same tile my only choice?
How about stainless steel? That would match the hood.
No the tile is not your only choice. You can get laminate from Home Depot or scrubble wallpaper.
Perhaps a sheet of clear acrylic.
You could put up ceramic tile similar in color to the tile you have.
You could put a shiny easy to wash tan tile to match it would look nice and off set the patern
I've seen stainless steel tiles, even in subway pattern. That would match your stove and rangehood.
Usually the backsplash goes all the way up in the range hood area.
What about a toughened glass backsplash? I’ve seen them with a design printed on the reverse or a piece of wallpaper stuck (properly) to the back. Works very well.
Why not continue with backsplash all the way? Love statement walls
I would not think that either acrylic or plastic coated (aka scrubbable) wallpaper would be safe materials to use on walls so close to a gas stove, due to the melting point of plexiglass and paper flammability.
Stainless steel or the tiles are much safer.
The melting point of plexiglass is 160 C, or 320 F. It will soften or singe at temperatures below 160C depending on the air flow conditions in the room.
It is not a code-conforming or safety-approved building material for backsplashes behind an open flame gas range.
