Either one is fine depending on cabinet colours, lighting, adjoining rooms, taste, style, backsplash, floor etc. Can you provide pictures or more information?

What color do you like? Do you prefer one look over the other? I'd suggest Googling "dark kitchen" and "light kitchen" and see if you are drawn to one over the other...it might reveal what you really want! My kitchen had dark stained wood when we moved in and I loved the real wood; lived with it for almost 20 years! But then, I got an inkling to change it and I just wasn't sure of my preferred "style," so I started looking at pictures and determining what it was I liked about the kitchens I was drawn to. I made a project board on Pinterest where I saved photos, then sifted through and started piecing things together that worked. That's how I decided on the cabinet, wall paint, countertop, and fabric colors we're finally installing. Good luck, and have fun!!! :-)

Sundrenched Sand (WalMart) is a light neutral color that will compliment any kitchen décor that you may have. Best of luck.

my preference is for neutral colors on the hard to paint items, and "trendy" colors for a feature wall or accessories. that said, there are a lot of neutrals, do the huge paint chip - a piece of foam core poster sized, paint with a tester paint- put it in different spots in the room, see how it changes with the different lighting. don't like that color? more tester paint .... and repaint chip.
