What should we do with our cabinets and countertop?

We redid our kitchen floors with a ceramic tile that kind of looks like slate. We have golden oak cabinets and not sure whether to paint them or just restain. In addition, not sure what kind of countertop we should use as well as backsplash. Would love to get some suggestions as we really don't want to mess up all the wood that we have in the house.
After floors were redone. Can barely see cabinets here but can see the colors in the floor. Cabinets are golden oak. Have struggled with painting them or leave real wood color.
Prior to floors being done. Yucky pink/grey linoleum... can see oak cabinets here. Just not sure whether to paint.. and then what counter top would go well with the new set up.

personally I am not a fan of painted cabinets,I would leave them natural, choose a countertop and backsplash that has the same color run as the floor

I love the idea of just subbing them clean and allowing their natural beauty to shine because it appears that your floors have that golden color. Now as for the counter top I'm going to suggest something that you may find crazy but if doing laminate then I would try to find a grey that leans toward the darker color in floor so that they pop. Yes I normally would not suggest warm and cold colors but here I think that it just seems like a natural choice. I wouldn't go to dark just enough to make the Grey of the slate pop. Now you have both colors featured but you can't stop there, no you will have to paint walls and here you can do about anything neutral either a dove grey to keep things light and airy or a warm creamy color for a warm cozy bright feeling. Also don't forget to change out light bulbs,if you go warm them use warm soft light if you go cool then use a natural white light.

I think a darker stain with some light countertops would look great

Your floors are dark and see you have oak floors .Stay with oak cabinet color .Just clean them well .Painted cabinets always chip or scratch or color fades or grease and dirt gets embedded in the paint .Use the Amish Milk stuff to clean them .I used it on my oak cabinets and was amazed at how much dirt was in the finish and now they look great .I am an oak lover

I tend to agree with Shoshana about darker cabinets. Maybe slightly darker than your oak floors. I was a golden oak lover for 35 years but had had enough. Installed a new white kitchen and spend half my life cleaning it! I had the island redone in dark. It cost a ton and it seems that the company used a gel stain and it chips easily from use. Lots of tutorials out there for gel stain but wouldn’t advise it from our experience.

If you can send me some better pictures, I can play with the colors and send you the options.

I would leave them the color they are since they look in good shape. They match the floor and look great with it. Painted cupboards do not always turn out real good. They may look ok at first but do not hold up well.

I would clean the cabinets, maybe put a fresh coat of sealant on them. I would replace the dated cupboard/drawer pulls with a coordinating color with your flooring & counter tops that you go with ( I used black matt with copper edging)..for the counter tops...concrete with copper veins would look fantastic!! (That is what we put in and I LOVE them) they are super easy to keep clean..we went with a dark black with copper veins and it just gives it a pop!
