Maybe put in the cabinet panels that go on the sides of a refrigerator. And a cabinet door on it. Just make sure that the panels are attached to the wall really good and put in some studs to support the doors weight.

Think carefully about doing it. I rented an apartment for a few months that had a stackable washer dryer combo. Could not retrieve any clothes that dropped off the side of it had to pull it out of the closet to do so.
You can use a tension rod and hang a curtain in front.
Are they really that ugly? Use as a Noticeboard or picture Gallery maybe?
Use a room divider to section it off or disguise it.
