i have a friend who did that because she wanted a place to hang ChristmaS stockings. She glued the net stones on the wall and then grouted. Yes, my husband put them around our gas log insert. Ever one comment on how great they look in the den and can't tell the difference from real stone. Go to Lowe's they can help get you started.
