Ake: #1 -- DECLUTTER! Get rid of knick-knacks that are just collecting dust, old books, newspapers, old awards --- take pictures of these things if you need memories. Be ruthless --- you'll be happier in the end!
Ake I just thinned out my living room. I took the pieces that just make clutter like the coffee table that doesn’t add any value to the room and gave it away.
Maybe simple decluttering is the way to go.
I don’t know about you but I have too much stuff.
I am donating and selling stuff and my room
looks great. Nothing matches but it’s neat and feels so much better. Comfy instead of stressed.
if you don't want to use his stuff have him remove it & he can store it til you move out;or put your in storage & save it for when you move elswhere
Ask the Landlord to remove the unwanted Furniture. After that is done you can arrange the furniture you like. Always avoid Caddy Cornering Furniture in a Living Room, unless you are indeed a Caddy who totes around 12 Golf Bags and keeps them behind a Sofa, or abiding a place with too much Space.
Could you post a picture? I'm rather good at doing this but without knowing specifics it's hard to advise. If not pictures, please list the items you have an room dimensions. I think you could get some more applicable advice.
