How do I add a light in my bathroom?

I’m moving into a rental that has very low light in the shower. There are no outlets in this room and I need a semi bright light to put in so I can see when I shower. Any ideas?

    Hi Dana,

You might try an new LED Daylight light bulb in the unit you have. The Daylight bulbs are pretty bright. If that doesn't help, then talk to your landlord. Electrical connections are their responsibility. You can't change the electrical outlets without their permission and an electrical contractor. There are some battery powered stick-on lights available that could go outside the shower but you want to be sure they can handle the moisture in the air. Try one of the big box hardware stores or even Walmart. If you can't find them there, try searching online. Wishing you the best.

Hi Dana,. I lost what I already wrote to you. You can purchase lights that run on batteries. They come with double-faced tape. You can paint a strip of wood then attached the lights, onto a stud. You can put up as many as you need. Check out Home Depot or your local hardware store. Call first, they should have them. Check with your landlord first. Aloha!

Use an LED light and a clear shower curtain.

Just buy a couple of battery operated stick on LED lights and be done with it, if your land lord isn't responsive. Generally, tenants requests are for things they want but aren't necessary As.Linda mentioned, remember it is THEIR property and changes such as more outlets, etc needs to have owner's approval and be installed by a licensed contractor. In small areas where there is water, each outlet needs to be a GFI unit so you don't electrocute yourself. Be smart!

There are plenty of battery powered lights in all sizes and shapes that go on wall.
