Sometimes the open concept is just too open. You can use folding screens as room dividers or large plants. Or if you really want to divide the rooms, you can use 2x4s and drywall, but that is permanent. Good luck.
Fishtank/waterfall & plants to divide up the room or a nice large furniture piece (shelving living side/pantry kitchen side)--less permanent than a wall & adds to functionality.
Floor to ceiling book cases. Make sure to attach to ceiling to prevent tipping.
