How do create a great room in my home?

What materials and paint and decor would best fit my needs and desires. How to turn these two spaces into one great room
I would live to help but size and height of walls help me visualize your room. You can make a rough but accurately measured but scaled down room. Than do the same with everything you want in room. Now have fun moving the pieces around this helps you get a pre idea of what the layout would be. Painting anything and everything is a room changer in itself. Also if you have paneling I would paint it ( theres different ways to do this) or cover it... It darkens a room. If you want a Great Room ...less is better and spread out is the key. Consider who will be in the room and if theyll be watching tv playing games or are children and any animals. Try and look at everyones needs for the space. Grouping similar objects ( in shape or color or genre) will add a professional touch. Flow is very important too ...how do you want people to enter and move about the room.
