I have small closets in both bedrooms and a tiny entry way closet. Lots of space above my kitchen cabinets which is unused as well.

Usually there is enough space above the clothes hanging pole to install two shelves. A clean look in the kitchen is to use matching baskets above the cabinets for storage. Another space never used, is to put a shelf over the doorway with baskets on it.

quI am used to large walking closets, but when my parents moved into a tiny house (with little closets), we raised the existing closet rod and added a second about 1/2 way down to double the hanging space. For her open 'bulk head' space, we framed it in, added (hand made) doors and painted to match her cabinets. She uses this space to store seldom used items. Her coat closet we filled with wire shelves, creating a storage closet and added a coat rack just behind the front door for often used coats/hats. Hope these ideas help. (FYI, use plate racks and other shelving items in kitchen cabinets to make use of cabinet wasted cabinet space.)

Holiday and things you use VERY infrequently put up high or way in the back of a closet. Use trunks. They make cute tables but you can store inside. Underbed storage for seasonal clothes. If bed not tall enough buy those cheap risers. Dollar store tubs to keep things organized. Open baskets on walls with bottoms on the wall itself and roll up bath towels to store in a pretty decor.

I bet the baskets on the wall look nice, I like this idea as well as the others. Thank you
