Best plantings for under crape myrtles

Trying to decide what to plant underneath mature crape myrtles in my yard, where the sandy soil won't support grass very well.

    Caladiums and hostas seem to be working for me.

    Try planting huchera,which comes in a variety of colors,carex grasses which are a low growing plant,and maybe some hostas.

    Hostas are beautiful and perennial, so they're always welcome. Holly fern and other perennial ferns would work well, also, liriope and spider lilies will give some fall color.

    All great suggestions. You might plant a few hellebore's for some early spring flowers and don't forget bleeding hearts.

    I planted Sedum succulents under my Crape Myrtle and they are doing fantastic. These are called Pink Bomb.
