How do I add more curb appeal?
I want to remove our prickly red bushes from the front & start over. I want color. The best thing about what we have is color all year. We live in Pa. i do not have a green thumb (more on the brown side). Suggestions?

I'm in Northeast Pennsylvania, zone 5. Not a lot of options if you want color. Wintercreeper, Holly, Cotoneaster, Weiglia, but mostly shades of green. Here's a link to what shrubs work by zone. http://www.buyshrubszone.com/hardiness_zones/north_america/zone5.html
Sell the bushes you do not like for something you do like.
You don't indicate your location. In zone 6 and 7, try Acuba, Wine and Roses weigelia, Hydrangeas, drifts of purple sage, Liatris, Euonymous, etc.
Contact a local garden landscape center or nursery for more specific advice. Take photos of your property and be prepared to provide answers about sun exposure, wind exposure, water availability, slope issues, soil conditions, animal problems, etc.
Deer, rabbits and groundhogs can be very destructive to PA landscapes.
