Crown of Thorns. They will like the hot climate and they bloom all year. You can also take cuttings and make new plants. Come in red, pink and yellow. This is the third house I have planted them. Love them. You can also use in between with some green plantings or alone.

Thank you, Linda, for your suggestions. I have actually never heard of Crown of Thorns so will definitely check it out. Really want to add color to the front to give it a beautiful "kick" so perhaps they will be my answer. Thanks again for taking the time to respond and give me feedback.

There are many low laying hedges that flower, Texas Sage and Oleander would look good along the side beds, they grow at two different heights so you don't get bare stalks showing on the Oleander. The Red Yucca would be a nice punch of colour at the entry way,by using 3- 5 on each side you would accentuate the column pillars. As for under the window. I would search out many different pots of all sizes and do clusters of colour. Looks like the area gets mostly shade so take that into account when you go shopping for plants.

Thank you, Cecile, for your feedback. I've, too, have thought about various sizes of pots - so that is still in the running. Drawback is that that will take quite a bit of "attention" to keep the flowers from drying out in containers.....I'm just not a "gardening" person....but I might be able to find a way around that. Again...thanks so much for your response.

Use potted plants with some high and lows. Would look nice on each side of the window. Perhaps a low window type box under window as well.

Thanks, Sue. See my response to Cecile, who also suggested potted plants. As I told her I am not too much at "tending" to plants outside...kind of a "black thumb" when it comes to keeping plants alive. Need "hardy" - independent, lol, plants. I do already have the containers, so will rethink a way to perhaps make that work. I think it would be pretty if I can find a solution. Thanks, Sue.

Holly ferns do well in low light areas and stay green all year. They would be good under windows as they only get about 2 feet high. Another possibility is hellsboro or laten rose which also stays green year round. It depends what zone you are in.
