What would be the best way to terrace my garden?

I have a garden that drops 6feet over 40feet which is laid to lawn. What would be the best way to terrace this should I start at the top and work down? or from the bottom up??

good question. This is a math problem. I am not good at math.
The best way is to start at the bottom. This will be the most important tier. Make sure whatever product you use that it is sturdy here before you move upward.
Start at the bottom height and build up excess soil at the next level till you reach top. I did exactly this on a garden that not only sloped from front to back ,but also from side to front.
