What is your planting zone? What do you want to plant? How is your soil? Do you have sun ,shade or both?

Start Small. Decide what is your purpose for your garden. To provide food or beautiful plants or both.

Then decide if you want an unground garden or one that is in containers or both. Again start small.

Then choose plants based on the above comment planting zone. that are the simplest to grow.

For plants, your best bet is perennials because they come back each year. Plus you can divide them and make two plants. That's not to say use annuals but I use them sparingly… and often grow them from seed directly in the ground. Like zinnia, marigold. etc.

Finally, based on your needs above ground or planted in ground… google, best small gardens for container or Inground planting. You'll get tons of hits and can easily learn from these. Gosh, I've learned so much over the years from the You tube videos as well. Simply google best plants to grow in containers on youtube or whatever.

Important is to know this is an experiment. Don't ever get discouraged. Growing food and flowers, plants is a pleasure. It is God's surprise to us!

    Blessings!
